Locksmith Randwick Enquiry - Is it better to have all locks fitted by the same key?

December 5, 2015

A customer searched Locksmtih Randwick on Google and found my number. The enquiry was about her house, She asked is it better to have all the locks on the same key? or is it better to have different keys for different locks.

The answer I gave went like this - If you have all locks on the same key you can access the property from front or back with a single key. It does not make the property any less secure, and saves you carrying an extra key on your keyring.

On the other hand, if you have a cleaner or guest for instance, it may be better to have one of the locks on the front door to a different key. So in the case you need to change the key to the accessible lock it does not mean everything needs to be rekeyed to new keys.
